January 2019 Recap

It is our great pleasure to launch the New Year while celebrating our unit's accomplishments over the past few months, with so much on the horizon. Here's a recap of our major achievements throughout the fall.

  • We filled every request for MRC staffing at flu clinics across the region, including our first clinic at a homeless shelter (9/24-11/7).

  • We responded to TWO emergency call-outs:

    - The gas explosions across Andover, North Andover, and Lawrence (9/13 to 22)

    - A measles exposure in Lowell (11/10-13)

  • Due to the fiscal agent situation that affected all 49 communities across DPH Region 3, we juggled projects for minimal impact on our volunteers. These choices included moving our Member Dinner from 9/27 to 12/4, and postponing our annual newsletter from September 2018 to March 2019. All of the 7 MRC units, 5 Public Health Coalitions, and numerous planners and HMCC affiliates across Region 3 were relieved to have the last pieces of the situation resolved by November 20, 2018. Our unit's ability to bunce back stronger is a testament to our own resilience.

The table below lists the activities that our members completed from September through December. Thanks to our volunteers for their dedication!
